Greenhouse Update

You know, it's times like this when I feel like winter will never end. We had frost again this morning. It's so cold. I know you people up north must be laughing at me, but I am a true Floridian. :) Our greenhouse is doing well. Life is busy as usual. I am happy to say I am doing better with my Pre-Calculus. (I'm taking an exam this afternoon so I don't know how long that will last.) One thing that makes me happy is that the flowers are blooming! Yay!

We cut down our aspidistra and when it grows back up, it will be more beautiful than ever. :) For now though, it looks awful.

Homemade Greenhouse

My daddy and grandpa built a greenhouse in the backyard using PVC pipes and this white sort of transparent stuff. I think it looks pretty good and it definitely works well. Even when it's cold out, it feels like summer in there.

Maybe a week ago I went back to see any progress that had been made.

I think we are doing well. Our big garden is also producing. We've harvested a lot of Daikon radishes and Kabu radishes. Here's one of our broccoli plants.

We put some fencing around the green onions because the chickens kept getting in there and scratching them up.

The loquat trees are also producing but the animals are getting to them as soon as they're ripe, sometimes not even all the way.

Daddy is drying some of the Daikon because he wants to try to make some takuan pickles. We'll see how that works out.

And that is the Bauder gardening update as of February 22nd.
