Checkerboard Cake

My friend, Victoria, gave me a checkerboard cake set for my birthday this year and I've been looking for an opportunity to present itself so I could use it. Yesterday, Grandma said, "I'm going to make a cake." Then I was really exited. She let me make the cake and it turned out pretty good. What do you think? We melted some chai flavored icing and poured it over the top.

Chai Cupcakes

A few days ago I made some Chai cupcakes from a recipe book I got for my birthday. The only thing was I made a slight mistake. If you know me, you know I always make little mistakes during baking that always turn out delicious. It happened again. :) They were so good that I ate 5 out of the 12.

Cinnamon, Ginger, Cardamom, Cloves, and black pepper

Mmmm! This recipe is definitely a keeper.
